SoCal Yearbooks Workshop

UX writing

putting the "yea" in yearbook!

Too Many Questions, Not Enough Time

Every summer for over 25 years, about 160 students and teachers from over 30 schools attend a yearbook workshop in Southern California to boost excitement for the new year and receive training on how to make a better yearbook than the year before. Trainers from across the country are flown in for the event, appealing to schools interested in creating award-winning yearbooks. By holding this event, the yearbook representatives in Southern California are able to decrease the service time at the start of the school year. by offering this training opportunity.

The purpose of the t-shirt contest is to get students more involved and to increase excitement. It engages customers by giving them a chance to be represented and rewards students who win the contest. Having a t-shirt contest creates more buy-in and loyalty from customers and gives students an outlet for creativity. It also takes one more thing off the backs of sales reps to not have to design a shirt during their busy summers.

Let's Make it Happen

The goal of this project was to revamp T-shirt contest copy on the website to make more sense, be more concise, and get more students to participate without increasing questions on the process.

Let's See the Numbers

By implementing changes to the webpage copy, the number of submissions for the contest increased by 15% year over year.
